Christmas Light Installation in Orillia

Christmas light installation and permanent lighting in Orillia, between Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe.

Orillia sits at the narrows between Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching, and like Barrie it has two kinds of housing: older brick and frame houses with steep roofs, porches and big trees on the streets around downtown and the waterfront, and newer subdivisions on the west side with straightforward two-storey rooflines. The older houses get the full treatment of peaks, porches and wrapped trees, with the three-metre clearance from overhead lines that ESA advises; the newer ones are well suited to permanent soffit lighting. Electricity in the city used to come from Orillia Power; the Ontario Energy Board approved its sale to Hydro One in April 2020, so Orillia households now see Hydro One on the bill, with the same provincial commodity prices. Orillia is a little further north than Barrie and the season sets in earlier, so installs here are best booked in October.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Innisfil, Bradford and Orillia?

Yes. Innisfil, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Orillia, Midhurst and the rest of Springwater, and Oro-Medonte are booked on the same terms as Barrie. Distance changes the travel time, not how the job is done.

Is the electricity price different outside Barrie?

The commodity prices are set province-wide by the Ontario Energy Board, so off-peak, on-peak and ULO prices are the same. The distributor and its delivery charges differ: Alectra in most of Barrie and in Bradford, InnPower in Innisfil and south Barrie, and Hydro One in Orillia. Your bill names yours.

Can you light a cottage or rural property near Barrie?

Yes, including long laneways, farmhouse rooflines and big spruce on rural lots in Oro-Medonte and Springwater. Rural runs are usually longer, with fewer outlets, and the quote covers how power reaches each run.
